Sofia Vergara slams 'narcissistic men' after ex's memoir claims
Sofia Vergara posted a chart labeling narcissistic men after ex‑husband Joe Manganiello’s memoir revealed claims that their marriage lacked emotion, he was denied hugs, and she ridiculed his adopted dog.
Sofia Vergara shared a social‑media graphic warning about narcissistic men after her ex‑husband Joe Manganiello’s upcoming memoir accused her of emotional neglect and ridicule. The exchange highlights a public feud that could shape fans’ view of both celebrities ahead of the book’s release.
Actress Sofia Vergara has taken to Instagram to warn followers about "narcissistic men" after her former husband, actor Joe Manganiello, disclosed personal grievances in excerpts from his forthcoming memoir, Bloodlines. The back‑and‑forth, played out on social media, puts both stars under a microscope just days before the book hits shelves.
What we know
According to the Boston Herald, Vergara’s son, 35‑year‑old Manolo Vergara, first posted an Instagram story that featured a side‑by‑side chart contrasting a "good man" with a "narcissistic man." The graphic lists traits such as gaslighting, blame‑shifting, lying, craving superiority, acting like Peter Pan, and envy for the narcissist, while the "good man" is described as setting boundaries, apologizing, telling the truth, celebrating others, and valuing community.
"Remember kids, when dealing with a narcissist, it doesn’t matter how much you do for them, because they will resent you for it, and nothing will ever be enough, and they’ll always somehow try to paint you as the bad guy," the post read.
Vergara also reshared a quote originally posted by Tom Brady that praised the ability to laugh at oneself and warned that an inability to do so signals dealing with an idiot. The timing of the post coincides with the release of Manganiello’s memoir, which the actor has been promoting through a series of excerpts.
In the memoir excerpts published earlier this week, Manganiello, known for his role on True Blood, opened up about a seven‑year battle with an autoimmune disease that he says strained his marriage to Vergara. He described the relationship as "devoid of any emotionality whatsoever" and claimed that Vergara refused to hug him even when he asked. He also alleged that Vergara "ridiculed" him for adopting a dog while he was suicidal in 2019.
"Our relationship became devoid of any emotionality whatsoever," Manganiello wrote in the memoir excerpt.
The actor credits a shaman in Santa Monica with helping him recover from his health issues, a detail that adds an unconventional twist to his personal narrative.
